Ramblin Ranch

We are a purebred Shorthorn operation located just 30 minutes Northwest of Calgary, in the county of Rockyview.  Although we have only been in the seedstock industry for a couple of years, we have been in the livestock industry for many raising Dorset sheep, commercial cattle and Miniature Show Horses.

We are often asked "Why Shorthorn?"  For us we like their moderate size, docility, maternal traits, and increased calving ease. We also liked what we saw when they were cross bred. The benefits of crossing the Shorthorn with other breeds are amazing giving increased calving ease, docility, fertility, growth, and carcass quality. These are all things that we think are important to the industry.

Our breeding decisions are based on the next generation, to produce easy fleshing, functional cattle, that competitive in the show ring and powerful in the pasture.
