Ramblin Ranch began as a commercial cow/calf operation just northwest of Calgary in Rocky View County, Alberta — where we're still proud to call home today. What started small has grown into a focused effort to build a cow herd that combines practicality, performance, and pride in the Shorthorn breed.
Jeremy has been rooted in agriculture from an early age, growing up on his family’s mixed farm. He spent several years in 4-H showing sheep and learning the value of hard work and animal care. For the past 15 years, he’s worked with Alta Genetics, gaining experience in cattle reproduction and beef genetics. That background continues to guide our breeding philosophy — pairing functional cattle with proven performance to create real value for commercial producers.
Christine, raised in the city, found her place in agriculture through horses. Her passion for riding and showing led her to develop her own Miniature Horse breeding program, where she handled every aspect from everything from training and conditioning to clipping and showing — a true hands-on effort that paid off, producing some of Canada’s top Miniature Horses. Along the way, she discovered a love for marketing and design, turning that creativity into a side business helping others in the livestock industry share their stories.
Together, we’ve combined our backgrounds and experiences to build something that reflects who we are — a mix of country roots, hard work, and a deep respect for the livestock industry. Our story is still unfolding, but one thing’s for certain: we’re proud of where we’ve come from and excited for where we’re headed.

Our Story

Building Our Legacy in the Shorthorn Breed
Our journey with the Shorthorn breed is still in its early chapters, but it’s one we’re proud to be writing. What began with a few cattle and a genuine interest in the breed has grown into a clear vision—building a program rooted in quality, purpose, and pride.
We were first drawn to Shorthorns for their gentle temperament, strong maternal instincts, and practical, moderate build. They’re cattle that work hard, raise a good calf, and hold up over time—traits that fit perfectly with the kind of herd we’re building.
As our program grows, so does our appreciation for the versatility of the breed. Whether purebred or part of a crossbreeding program, Shorthorns continue to prove their worth—offering growth, carcass quality, and maternal strength that adds real-world value.
We know building a program and a name takes time, but we’re here for the long haul. Our focus is on raising functional, sound, and honest cattle that reflect the best of the Shorthorn breed. We’re working every day to build something lasting—a legacy that honors where the breed has been and helps shape where it’s going.
